Marcia Ellen Johnson Pittman, 74, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023. She was born in a small town to two loving parents, Arthur and Pauline. They thought she was so cool they decided to have 4 more kids after her; Claudia, Karen, Philip, and Paul.
She was beautiful and kind, loved writing poetry and watching trashy tv.
She went to East Carolina to become an elementary school teacher. I figure she kinda liked it because she did it for thirty years and they planted a nice tree in her honor.
She met a fella named Nathan, who would call her Queen of the Pumpkins. This was because she won a Pumpkin pageant when she was younger, so she reckoned he wasn’t all bad. She found his loud stubbornness meshed well with her quiet stubbornness, so they decided to just stay together forever.
She had two boys, Joshua, and Jonathan, who have never had a moment their whole lives where they didn’t feel loved by her. Years ago, when it would storm and the wind blew in the night, she would read them books by a lamp and that is a very good memory for them.
Well, this past Friday, she decided to stand up and walk over to see what Nathan’s been up to the last few years.
Her family will be having a visitation at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home this Friday, June 9 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Marcia would have very much enjoyed calling your mom, or another loved one, and tell them about your day.
