Leroy Anthony Wooten, 47, passed away on February 2, 2022.

Leroy was preceded in death by his great grandfather, Ed Hair; great grandmother, Reverend Lizzie Hair; father, George Leroy Dawson Sr.; grandfather, George Dawson; grandfather, Shelly Wooten; grandmother, Annie Bell Wooten; and special brother-in-law, Van Cooper. He is survived by his beloved wife, Brendella Wooten of Fayetteville; daughters, Diamond Whitted-Wooten, Erlaya, and Skye; sons, Damonta  Antonia Lance , Joseph, and Lazhan; mother, Phyllis Moore; siblings, Macy Wooten of Fayetteville, Kevin Moore of Fayetteville, and Deondria McMillan of Fayetteville; grandmother, Lela Dawson;  aunts, Shirley Matthews of Arkansas, Martha Whitehead of Stedman, and Margaret Davis of Hope Mills; uncle, Michael Wooten of Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Leroy graduated from Douglas Byrd High School then later received his associates degree from Richmond Community College. He chose a career in trucking receiving his CDL’s in 2008 and had been an owner and operator ever since.

Leroy was an outgoing person who loved to laugh and joke. He couldn’t wait for summer to come around because he knew that was the time for some fresh watermelons. In his free time, he would ride around the neighborhood on his four-wheeler or dirt bike. Leroy loved to listen to music of all kinds. He was a selfless person, always helping others like cutting someone’s grass or moving junk out of their yard. When his friends would need help fixing their 18 wheeler, he wouldn’t hesitate to help with whatever it took to make his neighbor smile.
