David Fred Hart

David Fred Hart, 82, of Fayetteville, NC went home to be with his Lord on 19 March, 2023.

David was born in Hartland Maine to Linwood and Helen Hart. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Derwood Hart, Dennis Hart, and Daryl Hart and his sisters, Darlene Rutherford and Doreen Hawes.

David loved spending time with his family and being out on the lake fishing on his favorite Bass Tracker boat. David spent 20 years in the Armed Forces and another 45 years as a Traffic Management Specialist in Fayetteville.

David’s Family is very proud of his distinguished military service. A veteran of the Vietnam War, the U.S Army recognized David Hart for his honorable service with multiple Commendation Medals, Meritorious Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. David didn’t speak much about his time at Vietnam, but family members knew he was proud to serve his country.

David is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wilma A. Hart and his sons, Edmund Reisser and Andy Hart; his daughters, Debra King, Amanda Hart and Amy Hice, as well as his 10 grandchildren, Trevor Johnson, Brandon Reisser, Ashley Parker, Quentin Johnson, Bernd Jeanes, Taylor Reisser, Lydia Hart, Trey Reisser, Maura King and Sarah Hart along with two great grandchildren Evan Jeanes and Amelia Reisser.

A Memorial Service will be held at Rogers Breece Funeral home, 500 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC on Saturday March 25. Family visitation will be held prior to the Service at 1:30 to 2:00.

The family will have a private funeral service at the Sandhill State Veteran Commentary at a later date.
