Rev. Alton Douglas Howard

Rev. Alton Douglas Howard, 81, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014.

Rev. Howard served the community as Minister of Catalpa Bible Way Church. He also served as President of Bible Way Church Association and Catalpa Bible Way College. He was also President of the Christian Accrediting Association for Theological Institutions, Inc.

Alton is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Helen Howard of the home; his daughters, Linda K. Norris of Kinston and Dianne Schumacher and husband Roger of Pinehurst; his son, James Douglas Howard of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gary Horne officiating. Interment to follow in  Cumberland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12:15 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
