Retired SFC John DeMark, Jr.

Retired SFC John DeMark, Jr., 80, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday January 1, 2017.

Mr. DeMark served two years in the Navy before joining the Army.  He served in the Vietnam War during his service and retired after 23 years of military life.  After his retirement from the Army, he was a manager at JiffyLube, and also worked for UPS and the VA Hospital.  He was a dedicated volunteer at the Airborne and Special Operations Museum and was a former Governor of the Fayetteville Moose Lodge.

Mr. DeMark is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" DeMark of the home; his two sons, John J. DeMark, III of Salt Lake City, Utah and Dean M. DeMark of Fayetteville; his daughter, Robin K. DeMark of Mt. Olive; and three grandchildren, Madison DeMark, Morgan DeMark, both of Fayetteville and Kate DeMark of Salt Lake City, Utah.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm tonight, January 5, 2017 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.  A rosary will be held at 7:30 pm in the chapel.  A private family burial will take place on Friday, January 6, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to a charity of your choice.
