Ret. Sgt. Major Daniel Ray Powers

Retired Sgt. Major Daniel Ray Powers, 69, of Fayetteville passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017.

Mr. Powers served in the US Army dedicating 30 year of service in Special Forces.  After retirement he worked as a civilian contractor for the Army.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, a sister and a brother.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Angelika Powers of the home; a son, Raimund Powers and wife, Pamela of Erwin; brothers, Emmett Powers of Mineola, Texas, Dewey Powers and wife, Janet of Granbury, Texas and Andy Powers of Desota, Texas; sisters, Ruth McDougald and husband, Duane of Oil City, Texas, Sandy Prince and husband, Tom of Mineola, Texas; and Sherry Brogdon and husband, Don of Grand Prairie, Texas; and one grandson, Casey Powers.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm tonight, Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday, October 13, 2017 in JFK Chapel on Ft. Bragg with Rev. Deacon Patrick Snyder and Chaplain Roy Hill officiating.  Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
