Maria Wiest Heaps

Maria Wiest Heaps went home to be with the lord June 14, 2017. Maria was born in Hungary and moved to Germany as a child. Maria met her husband George in Munich, Germany where they were married September 20, 1958. 

Maria is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews in Germany as well as the United States.  Maria is survived by sister-in-law’s, Jessie Heaps, Dorothy Figurelle, and a brother-in-law, Ralph S. Heaps (Sheree).

Maria was preceded in death by her parents in Germany and her husband Sgt. George Henry Heaps, US Army, Special Forces.

Maria enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, and entertaining guests.

Maria will be sorely missed by the many friends, family, and military family that she has touched in her lifetime. Everyone appreciated Maria’s sense of humor.

A funeral mass will be held at 9 am Thursday, June 22, 2017 in St. Ann's Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
