James Harmon Smith, Sr.

James H. Smith Sr., 78, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015.

James is survived by former wife and forever friend, Joyce H. Smith; sons, James Harmon Smith Jr. (Sandra) of Hope Mills and Scotty Ray Smith of Fayetteville; daughters, Cynthiney Smith Flynn (Shane) and Cathy Marie Smith both of Fayetteville; step-son, Troy Cain; brother, James D. (J.D.) Smith of Fayetteville; sister, Marie Moore of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren, Christen Smith, Joseph Smith, Joshuah Flynn, Jason Flynn, Bryan Scott, Steven Scott, Bridget Smith and Justin Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Caiden Smith, Josephine Smith, Madalyn Edenfield, Steven Scott, Maverick Scott, Harper Flynn, and Kylan Flynn; his many friends and pals at Gates Four; and his devoted companion, Buster.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015 in Layfayette Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Interment to follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., tonight, May 22, 2015 at the funeral home.
