James "Buck" Melton

Mr. James "Buck Enloe" A. Melton, 86, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmon and Ila Arnette Enloe; a brother, Charles M. Melton; and a son, James L. Melton.

He is survived by his wife of 65 1/2 years, Hilda Dees Melton of the home; sons, F. Gregg Melton and wife, Donna of Elizabethtown, Pa. and Mel G. Melton of Fayetteville; brothers, William C. Enloe and Steven K. Enloe, both of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren, Jason Melton and wife, Nicole of Charlotte; Melanie Wettlaufer and husband, Brandon of Los Angeles; Bryan Melton and wife, Alexandra of Nashville, Tenn., Sarah Lewis and husband, Galen of Greensboro, Stephanie Melton and partner, Chris Buster of Katy, Texas, Haley Melton and Chloe Melton both of Elizabethtown, Pa., Nicole Gardner and husband, Jason of Salisbury and Tara Fung and husband, Jonny of New York, N.Y.; and eight great grandchildren, Lilith Lewis, Nora Lewis, Sydney Melton, Liam Melton, James Buster, Emerald Wettlaufer, Dales Gardner, Amelia Gardner and Charlie Gardner.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3 pm Friday, October 20, 2017 in Carroll Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Tryon Lancaster and Pastor James Baker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A private burial was held at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to Carroll Memorial Baptist Church Property Fund 2220 Camden Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28306.
