James Raymond Blackwood

Retired Army SSG James Raymond Blackwood, 60, of St. Pauls passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2014.

His beloved Yorkie, Chelsea, was his faithful companion to the end.

He is survived by his children, James Robert Blackwood (Melissa) of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Christina McQuade (Terance) of Stafford, Va.; his step-daughters, Jennifer Moxley of Ellerbee and Jessica MacDonald of Fayetteville; two grandsons; and three granddaughters.

A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests  donations in memory of James and Chelsea be made to the North Carolina Yorkie Rescue at ncyorkierescue.net.
