Ida Belle (Davey) Donaldson

Ida Donaldson, 79, of 1902 Poplar Drive, Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at 9:32 p.m. in her daughter's home in Harrels.

She attended nursing school at St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Youngstown. Upon her completion of nursing school, Ida joined the military and served in the Army Nurse Corps. Ida met her husband, Charles, in San Antonio, Texas. They were married a few months later. They would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on November 10th of this year.

Ida was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be truly missed.

She devoted her life to caring for her husband and children. Ida cared for her husband at home for many years during his sickness. She was a 10 year ovarian cancer survivor when it returned. Ida battled ovarian cancer the second time for almost five years as Charles stayed at the Veteran's Medical Center where he passed last month. They did not like being separated and it was very hard for them. They are now together in their forever home in heaven and we cannot wait to see them again. We will miss all of their love.

She is survived by her loving family comprised of her daughters, Cathy Broadwell and her husband, Michael, of Eastover, Brenda Cherry and her husband, Chris, of Harrells; her sons, Charles R. Donaldson, of Greenville, John N. Donaldson and Bryan K. Donaldson both of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Christina, James, Jessica, Meagan, Charles Richard Jr. "CJ", James Steven, Anna Marie, and Lauren; two great-grandsons, Johnny Nevan and Benjamin Elliott.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel. Interment to follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
