Welcome to the memorial page for

Florence McLaurin Fowler

February 19, 1928 ~ November 4, 2017 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Mrs. Florence McLaurin Fowler was a daughter, wife, grandmother and great grandmother "GiGi" for her 89 years of life here on earth.

She was born on February 19, 1928 in Vander.  She attended Sunnyside Elementary and graduated from Stedman High School.

She married the late D.A. Dove "Junior" in 1948 and has one daughter, Connie Dove Tucker and husband, David; one granddaughter, Lori Allison Moose and husband, Robbie; and a great granddaughter, Rylee Paige Moose.  She was "adopted" as a second mother to Chuck  and Cindy Romans.  She also is survived by a sister, Mary Aleise Brittan and several nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Daisy Mae McLaurin and father, James W. "Bullock" McLaurin and a sister, LaGray Rhodes.

She worked her whole life.  She retired with 25 years of service from Black and Decker in 1993.  After retirement, she loved working outside doing yard work, growing flowers and sitting on her front porch with friends and family.  She could make anything when it came to sewing.

Some of her favorite things were good old country music, cross word puzzles and one of the best country cooks.  She always said, "I cook like my MaMa did."

She and friends from Black and Decker met monthly for lunch and talked about good times.

She battled with and won four major cancers and survived two extensive surgeries as well that saved her life.

She was a "Hot Mess" and loved dearly by those who knew her and was a force to be reckoned with.

A service honoring her life will be held at 3 pm Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Archie Barringer officiating.
