Eleanor Reaves (Reaves) Holder

Eleanor Reaves Holder, 90, of Fayetteville died Friday, November 14, 2014 in Fayetteville. 

Born in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of John Les Reaves and Emma Jernigan Reaves.  Mrs. Holder was a lifelong member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church .  She was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College and taught school earlier in her life.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  An avid quilter, she was a member of a local quilting club.  Mrs. Holder was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Holder.

She is survived by her son, Gary Holder, Jr. of Fayetteville; daughters, Jacqueline Norris and husband, Ed of Fayetteville, Sheila Lewis of Fayetteville and Denise Hartsell and husband, Brian of Fayetteville; a sister, Louise Mills of Linden; five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday November 18, 2014 in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Davis officiating.  Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, November 17, 2014 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church or The American Cancer Society.
