David "Bud" Kinnie Taylor, Jr.

January 10, 1945 ~ May 25, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

David “Bud” Kinnie Taylor, Jr., 72, of Fayetteville, NC, died May 25, 2017. 

He was born January 10, 1945, son of the late Charity and D.K. “Old Dear” Taylor. Bud was a respected leader in the Fayetteville community. He was a graduate of Methodist College and served on the Board of Trustees for many years.

Bud was the owner of D.K. Taylor Oil Company, a business opened by his father in 1932. Bud was a member of the Board of Directors for Branch Banking and Trust for 41 years and served as Advisory Board Chairman. 

He was an active member of Hay Street United Methodist Church and served on several committees and in organizations. Bud and his wife, Deborah, were honorary members of First United Methodist Church and regularly attended Ocean View Baptist Church, both in Myrtle Beach, S.C. 

Bud is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 29 years, Deborah Blackmon Taylor; two daughters, Jennie Wilson (Matthew) of Cary and Sally Taylor (Jonathan “Mark” Rinehardt) of Smithfield, Va.; two sisters, Kay Wilcox of Apex,  and Sue Boggs of Monroe. Bud had three grandchildren: Emily Elizabeth Wilson, Brandt Taylor Wilson, and Jonathan “DK” Rinehardt, Jr.; and a faithful black lab, Clicker. 

In celebration of Bud’s life, a visitation will be held in the sanctuary of Hay Street United Methodist Church, Monday, May 29, 2017 from 11 am to 12:45 pm. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. 

The family wishes to express special thanks for the love shown by Bud’s many friends. He had a generous heart and an unparalleled love for life. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hay Street United Methodist Church, 320 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301
