Mr. Carlton Jesse Person, Sr., 90, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017.
He was WWII veteran and the Animal Control Director for Cumberland County for 20 years. He was a lifelong member of Highland Baptist Church and served as a deacon.
Mr. Person was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Evelyn; his parents, Mittie Odom and Jerome Carl Person; and his brothers, Hersey, Marion and Jimmy Person.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Dianne Douglas and husband, Donnie; his son, Carlton "Rod" Jesse Person, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Donna Edwards and husband, Chris, Kimberly Douglas, Jason Person and Logan Person; and two great grandchildren, CJ and Cassidie Edwards.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Highland Baptist Church with Rev. Zach Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 7 pm to 9 pm at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.
