Betty Locklear Cummings

Betty Locklear Cummings, 75, of Fayetteville passed away with her daughter, Carla by her side on Friday, February 23, 2018.

She grew up in Robeson County and graduated from Prospect High School and Pembroke State University.  Betty retired from Haverty's after many years of dedicated service. 

She loved to serve the Lord, her family and was lovingly called "MeMa" by her grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Hall and her sister, Darlene Taylor.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Gail Locklear of Greenville, Carla Vaughn and David of Hope Mills, Wendy Lewis and husband, Tony of Fayetteville and Ginger Lowry of Fayetteville; a son, Jeff Cummings of the home; a brother, Chester Locklear of Havelock; and 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Fayetteville Assembly of God.  Burial will follow in Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:45 am to 1:45 am prior to the service at the church.
