February 18, 1935 ~ January 25, 2015 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Alex Eskel Edge, (Eskel) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, went home to be with our Lord and Savior,  Jesus Christ on January 25, 2015.

His parents, who preceded him in death and now eternal life, were John and Rebecca Edge.

Eskel was happily married to Betty O. Edge for 41 years.  They poured love into a blended family of five children, Conrad, Deborah, Vivian, Marla, and Beverly Gail who through marriage ultimately blessed them with 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.  His grandchildren are Sylvia, Holly, Amanda, Luke, Jacob, Anthony, Rebecca, Lydia, Barbara and Elizabeth, and great grandchildren Vincent, Nathaniel, Michael, with a great grandson expected in May 2015.  He is also survived by two sisters, Agnes Turlington and Barbara Davis.

Eskel faithfully served His Lord Jesus Christ, family, friends and church.

Born in Robeson County, North Carolina on February 18, 1935, he lived in Fayetteville, North Carolina until his earthly journey ended and his heavenly home occupied.

Eskel loved to tell people about Jesus. His favorite Bible verse is “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”  John 4:13-14.  May through this witness you will call on Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 10 to 10:45 am at Gardners  United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. A memorial service will be held on Wed. January 28, 2015 at 11am also at United Methodist Church, with the Pastor Herbert Lowry officiating. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
